Romans 8:37-39 AMP:
Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us. For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Life is really hard. Even when things are going well for you, there is a good chance that someone you know is going through a rough time. Combined with our modern-day constantly negative 24 hour news reel from around the world that does not hesitate to update us with every horrible and heartbreakingly unimaginable event that occurs, life can seem unbearable at times.
But, we have a God, a Father that cares about us. To be honest, it may not always feel that way. Fortunately, one of the good things about the Bible is that it shows us a lot of examples of people, including Jesus, that felt the same way at times in their lives. We may not understand it, we may even get mad at God, but we have to remember that “…all things God works for the good of those who love Him…”
. We don’t know the big picture, but you can rest in the fact that god loves you and He is doing what is best for not only you, but for everyone. 1 Corinthians 13:12
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
We only know part of the story right now – a small part. But eventually we will know everything. When things are difficult, try to remember Romans 8:37. It’s also good to remember this when things are going well. Smooth sailing is a great time to build up your defenses so that you can withstand the unknown bend in the road that will inevitably come.
After you have made it through your trial and look back at the journey, you will be stronger. If you let it, it will bring you closer to God. James 4:8 says that if you draw near to God, He will draw near to you. Don’t let your troubles separate you from God. Verses 38-39 above say that nothing of this world can separate us from the love of God. Every test and trial that comes your way is nothing to God. Rest and know that God is in control. Romans 8:31 NIV:
What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
If God is for us, who can be against us?!! Your struggle may be everything to you, but it is nothing to God.
Trust. Believe. Rest.
