1 John 4:16 -19 NIV:
16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.19 We love because he first loved us.
Verse 16 says that God is love. Therefore all He does comes from a place of love. All love emanates from Him. We are able to love because of Him. We inhabit Him when we love – when we love ourselves and when we love others. When you and God are one, fear cannot be present. When you live in God and God lives in you, fear has to die. God’s perfect love drives it out. Work with God and allow Him to drive out every instance of fear in your life. When you feel fear creeping up on you, run to God – immediately. He is always with you. It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing. God is with you and He will help you.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
God has given us love and a sound mind. When fear tries to take hold of you, take a breath and and remember that God is with you.
Philippians 4:6-7 AMP:
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
God knew you before He created this world. He knew every issue, heartbreak, joy, tear, laugh and accomplishment that you would encounter before you took your first breath. He knows what you’re going through, so don’t fret. Allow yourself to feel His love for you. Pray before you even have a chance to worry about it and His peace and love and comfort will envelop you. If you don’t feel it, pray for it. Pray to feel His warm embrace in your life. Ask Him if there is anything you can do to change your situation. God can do all things, but there are some things that He requires us to do so that we will grow.
As much as parents love their child, they know that they can’t carry them around forever. It will be detrimental to their child – their legs will become weak and they may never be able to walk on their own. Part of the walking process can be painful. Every baby falls a few times, but eventually they get the hang of it. The whole time the baby’s parents are standing by to make sure that the real dangers are out of the way. They make sure that if the baby falls, there are no sharp corners near by, etc. They are standing right there with big smiles on their faces watching their child progress through a challenging learning experience. But no one cheers more than the child’s parents when their child learns to walk.
God is right there with us. Maybe we need to go through what we’re going through for our own personal growth. God is right there cheering us on, telling us we can do it. He doesn’t want us to crawl forever. When we finally master the challenge, He is happier and cheers louder than we ever could. He will not allow us to stay in our current circumstances. He will keep nudging and pushing us forward. But He is with us the entire time, right beside us.
Deuteronomy 31:6 AMP:
Be strong, courageous, and firm; fear not nor be in terror before them, for it is the Lord your God Who goes with you; He will not fail you or forsake you.
Don’t fear, God goes with you. He will never leave you.
Thank you, Jesus!
